Went for a long drive today in my moms car, since I don't have winter tires for my Volvo. I needed some driving before going back to school, and sometimes you just have to take what you got..

It's a 2013 Subaru Impreza 1.6 CVT. Rather uninspiring really, but I have to say I prefer the CVT over a regular automatic gearbox. The car doesn't allow much oppo though, and the ESP-off button doesn't do any difference whatsoever. Well, I don't do slides on public roads anyways, but I like things to work like they're supposed to.

I took the photos at the beginning though, I actually had an average mileage of 7.5l/100km. With inspirated driving, that is. I have no idea what my mom does to get such high mileage..

Nice Jasmine Green Impreza. We finally got that as a color choice for the US market Imprezas this year, but not on the Sport models or the Crosstrek.

As for the VDC (Subaru speak for stability control), there is a solution: You have to pull a fuse. It isn't the cleanest solution, since you will get several warning lights and have to use the shift interlock bypass button in order to move out of park.

Since this was a demonstration vehicle she got a good deal and couldn't care much about the colour. Funny thing is that I saw an XV (Crosstreck) with the same colour today, and it's a bit weird that you don't get it in the US.

I figured I had to pull a fuse, but as long as it's not my car I don't think I should do it.

You can never go wrong with a Subaru

We have a Sage Green Forester, so I'm a bit partial to the greens that Subaru produces. There are multiple colors that Subaru deems unfit to sell the Crosstrek in over here. Another one is Deep Cherry Pearl.

Honestly, bypassing the VDC is more hassle than it's worth for a car that isn't yours. I haven't pulled the fuse on any of ours.
